GODIŠNJICA SMRTI VLADIMIRA NAZORA

Vladimir Nazor koji je brojnim stihovima i pregrštima proze snažno obogatio hrvatsku književnost rodio se 30. maja 1876. u Postirama na otoku Braču.

Godine 1942. s pjesnikom Ivanom Goranom Kovačićem preko Kupe prešao je partizanima, o čemu je izvijestio čak i Radio London. Nazor počinje voditi dnevnik S partizanima. Poslije rata objavio je i Pjesme partizanske.

U ratu Nazor je predsjednik Izvršnog odbora ZAVNOH-a, a nakon rata predsjednik Prezidija hrvatskog Sabora. Posljednji javni nastup imao je 1949.: kao novoprimljeni akademik čitao je novele iz nedovršene zbirke U zavičaju, navijestivši nekoliko dana prije svoju smrt.

Nazor je umro 19. juna 1949. Od prvog predsjednika prve hrvatske republike oprostila se na zagrebačkom Mirogoju beskrajna povorka štovatelja.
